At 1:30 am I awoke to a screaming match outside the tent. Five hispanic males had surrounded my brother and were screaming "YOU SAY PLEASE, YOU SAY PLEASE". At this point my mother went running over there and told them that the camp hosts were calling the police and that got them even madder, but they left our camp site for fear of the police. Well apparently they were mad because my brother had told them to turn there music down. However they neglected to think about the fact that it was the middle of the night and other people might be trying to sleep. It was at this time that I came running out of my tent (all while Kevin slumbered away, Thanks for the protection honey). The police came about 15 minutes later and talked with this group of men for 30 minutes. They then came over to us and told us that they were drunk and that they should not be approached at all. If we had any more problems we should call 911 immediately. If this had been the end that would have been no big deal, but.......

my dad turned on his army protector mode and would not leave from my brothers tent. He sat there ready to pounce on any movement or attack. I thought for a moment that this must be how it is in Iraq (well maybe not quite). But preparing for battle and attack. I was so afraid for my dad and my brother (let me mention that my brother has his concealed weapons permit and had his gun in his pocket) and their reaction that I would not leave my dad's side until he went to bed. I did have to use the restroom at about 3:00am so I walked to the nearest outhouse and I was thinking to myself, why have I not prayed for peace and assistance from Heavenly Father. I pondered for a moment at how easy it is to forget to speak to our only SAVIOUR. At this odd moment I had a renewed conviction to pray always that we may come off conquerers. Finally at 3:30 am my dad felt assured that they were not going to retaliate and he went to bed, so I did the same. Thanks Heavenly Father. Right as I laid my head down my sister's baby started crying and wouldn't stop until her husband took him to the car a 1/2 hour later. I finally fell asleep and slept for an hour. Apparently the sun is up at 5:30am, and thus so are my children. Well we awoke and packed up and left. We did not want any more conflict.
