Police Ride

Yes, I was taken away in my first police car today. The good news is that it was not because of something I had done wrong. Kevin and I were on a date and we went to the grocery store to get some things for the next day's dinner. As we got out of the car a large polynesian man came out of the store with a cart full of beer. He had this weird smile on his face, and I thought he must have just heard a joke or something. Behind him I heard a lady telling him to stop and hold on for a minute. I thought that maybe she was his girlfriend and she forgot to tell him something before he left. She ran up to him to talk to him and he turned around and punched her. She fell to the ground and the shopping cart came with her. He ran off and some other women went to follow him. Kevin felt that they were in danger, and they needed protection, so he followed the women. I was left standing there, alone, in an empty parking lot, with the broken beer. I became frightened and decided that I better follow Kevin, to be a witness of his impending death (I know, a little dramatic, but if you had seen this man it would have brought these thoughts to your mind also). So I followed him through these parking lots and we could not find him. In the mean time the suspect had jumped into a get away car, and another couple that were witnesses followed him to try and catch him. They were able to get the license plate number of the get away car, and the cops detained the group of men from this vehicle. The next task was to identify the suspect. Four of us went separately to identify him and I was amazed at how difficult it was. The men had all changed clothes, pulled their hair back, and changed their demeanor. I told them that I was 70% sure that one of these men was the suspect, but not positive. They kept asking me my opinion and I told them that I couldn't say yes, just maybe. Well they drove me back to the store and they let us go home. They said that the suspects were going to go to jail, most likely serving 6 months for attempting to steal $128.00 worth of beer. Was that really worth it? The police also said that there has been a 40% increase in crime since the economy has had a downturn. WOW, not to be a downer, but it seems as if it is a sign of the times! Out of all of this though, I was grateful that the suspect had disappeared by the time my Kevi had caught up with the other women. He was safe and just as good looking as ever. Way to be the PROTECTOR honey! Although next time I hope that he can just listen to me when I tell him, "let's not get involved." I was so afraid that they had weapons or that they would turn around and pound on him.

Holy Cow! It sounds like you were involved in Prime Time Television! Way to go Kevin! I am so glad you BOTH are safe. Maybe Kevin needs to look into another line of work- maybe one with a badge, or a cape? ;)

Wow...that sounds like some date night. I can't believe you had to go through all that. I'm glad you are safe...was he carrying his concealed weapon?

Well I wonder what I would have done? Difficult situation for sure... I am grateful all are safe. I think in the end I'd hope to have been as brave as Kevin. I recall that the Gadianton robbers did their worst when no one got involved. When citizens watch out for one another those who prey on others are less confident. Great work Batman!

Craziness! Sounds like quite the adventure for a quick stop at the store. I know it sounds weird but I have always wondered if it would be hard to identify someone in a police line-up (I know random thing to think about). Well I'm glad you guys were safe. CRAZY people!

Oh my Nicole how scary. Did Kevin have his gun on him and that is what gave him confidence to run towards possible death. He would have done it anyway knowing Kevin.
